I am Judson E. Crump, a consumer rights attorney born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. I represent people in every sort of financial distress: I fight fraudulent businesses who steal money from their customers; I defend people from creditors who want to garnish their wages and take their homes; I fix credit reports that have been wrongfully damaged by false information; I sue debt collectors, auto dealers, and insurance companies when they don’t treat people fairly; and I guide my clients through the bankruptcy process. I’m licensed to practice law in Alabama and Texas.
I graduated from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, then went to Birmingham-Southern College, and got my law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. I have six children (4 boys and 2 girls), and I spend most of my spare time with them. If you work in downtown Mobile, you may have seen me: I’m the only lawyer in town you’ll see riding to court on a bike. It’s not that I don’t own a car: I do. But I’ve always been an outdoors type, and old habits just die hard.
The raison d’etre of my law practice is to protect honest working folks from fraud and financial ruin. I believe in social justice and try to make it happen, so I take pride in taking cases that may not make a lot of money, but mean a lot to my clients. I am very passionate about my work and was proud to be the 2014 winner of the South Alabama Volunteer Lawyer Program’s Young Lawyer of the Year award. I also was named a “Rising Star” by Alabama Super Lawyers in 2014, and 2015, though I don’t really think of myself as a “super lawyer.” I’m more of a “try hard and care” lawyer. If you need information, check out my blog. I have lots of articles about various legal and financial subjects and you may find it interesting. If you need help, give me a call at 251.272.9148.
Peace be with you all.
