If you’ve recently received a letter or certified mail from a company called “Harbin, LLC” or “Revenue Maximization Consultants,” you may be facing a lawsuit by a debt buyer.
Who are they?
Harbin, LLC calls itself a “buyer of distressed receivables.” In other words, it is a debt buyer. They claim to purchase past-due accounts and then they try to collect them. Revenue Maximization Consultants is a related business.
If you have been sued by either Harbin or Revenue Maximization Consultants in Mobile County District Court, you need to speak to a lawyer right away.

Tasha,
That does not sound right. Unfortunately, whether or not you can do anything about it depends on what happened in the lawsuit that formed the basis of their garnishment. For example, if they sued you for a debt you had already paid, and you received notice of the lawsuit, but did not send an answer to the court, then the court can enter a judgment against you based on your failure to answer. In which case, you may have lost your chance to present any defenses – such as a previous payment or settlement of the debt.
If this case is in Alabama, feel free to call me at 251.272.9148.

Maximization consultants is suing me for a credit card from 2009. The banne on the card was 600 and now I owe over 1800 with all that interest they charge. They won’t work with me. This garnishment is causing extreme financial hardship. I can’t buy groceries or no longer afford to pay my utility bill. Is there is more I can do?

Allison,
I’m a bit confused by your comment. They can’t garnish you until they’ve already gotten a judgment, which requires that they sue you and serve you with notice of the lawsuit. If they have not gotten a judgment, then there is certainly something you can do about it. You can fight them. I’d recommend hiring a lawyer to do this.
